Railserve is hiring an experienced, safety-focused Superintendent - Operations to oversee rail construction and maintenance operations across project sites. This is a full-time leadership role responsible for workforce planning, equipment utilization, project execution, and maintaining a strong safety culture.

Job Description
In this role, you will oversee workforce planning, equipment utilization, and project execution while coordinating with internal stakeholders across safety, project management, and operations. You will play a key role in driving operational performance, cost control, and a strong safety culture.

Schedule
Full-time; schedule varies based on operational needs, projects, and travel requirements

Compensation
Starting salary: $65,000 per year (based on experience)

Duties
Allocate crews, equipment, and materials across projects and job sites
Schedule and oversee work to meet maintenance, emergency, and capital project commitments
Coordinate with internal teams including Safety, Project Management, HR, and Finance
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with FRA rules and company procedures
Conduct inspections of crews, vehicles, tools, and equipment
Lead safety initiatives and maintain a strong safety-first culture
Monitor operational costs, resource utilization, and project performance
Support pricing, margin management, and cost control initiatives
Coordinate equipment maintenance, transportation, and inventory management
Oversee project execution to ensure quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED
5-7 years of experience in railroad track construction
5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Strong knowledge of track construction, maintenance, and defect identification
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to build relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
Strong understanding of cost management and resource allocation
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and reports
Basic math skills
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to travel as required
Ability to lift and move equipment as needed
FRA certification required when applicable
Spanish language skills are a plus
