WordPress Developer

Applications from other regions will not be considered. </u></strong></p> <p><strong>ROLE OVERVIEW</strong></p><p>We’re looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to support ongoing development, optimization, and troubleshooting across a portfolio of complex WordPress websites.</p><p>This is a contract-based role, working closely with our internal team as an integrated contributor. You’ll be involved in day-to-day delivery, collaborating across functions, and helping us maintain a high standard of execution.</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING</strong></p>• Execute scoped development tasks across multiple WordPress sites<br>• Build and extend custom themes, plugins, and blocks<br>• Troubleshoot complex issues across performance, integrations, and functionality<br>• Optimize sites for Core Web Vitals and overall performance<br>• Translate Figma designs into production-ready WordPress implementations<br>• Collaborate closely with account managers and other developers<br> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED</strong></p><p>Core Requirements</p>• Strong experience with WordPress (custom themes, plugins, block editor)<br>• Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (React and/or jQuery), HTML, and Sass<br>• Experience with WooCommerce and complex plugin ecosystems<br>• Strong debugging and problem-solving ability<br>• Experience working with Git-based workflows<p></p><p>Communication (Required)</p>• Excellent written and spoken English<br>• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in a remote, async-first environment<br>• Comfortable participating in client-facing or internal discussions when needed<p></p><p>Technical Experience</p>• Performance optimization (Core Web Vitals)<br>• Familiarity with tools like Cloudflare, Nginx, MariaDB/MySQL, Redis<br>• Experience with build tools (NPM, Gulp, Webpack)<br>• Ability to work from Figma designs to production<p></p><p>Working Style</p>• Reliable, deadline-oriented execution<br>• Comfortable working across multiple tasks and priorities<br>• Able to collaborate as part of a distributed team<br> <p><strong>WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE</strong></p>• Working through 1–4 tasks per day depending on complexity<br>• Collaborating with team members across Slack, ClickUp, and Zoom<br>• Contributing to ongoing client work across a range of industries and use cases<br>• Solving technical challenges with a focus on quality and maintainability<br> <p><strong>TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY</strong></p>• JavaScript (React, jQuery), PHP, Sass<br>• WordPress (Gutenberg, ACF, Elementor, WooCommerce)<br>• NPM, Gulp, Webpack<br>• Git (Gitflow workflows)<br>• Cloudflare, MariaDB/MySQL, Nginx/Apache, Redis<br> <p><strong>ENGAGEMENT & COMPENSATION</strong></p>• Contract-based engagement with consistent, ongoing work<br>• Competitive hourly or project-based compensation<br>• $2,000 equipment stipend at start, with periodic refresh opportunities<br>• Flexible working schedule with expected overlap for collaboration<br>• Paid time off supported within the engagement model<br> <p><strong>WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR</strong></p>• Experienced WordPress developers who enjoy hands-on execution<br>• Developers comfortable working as part of a structured, high-performing team<br>• Individuals who value autonomy while contributing to a shared standard<br> <p>If you take pride in your work, communicate clearly, and enjoy solving real-world problems in WordPress, we’d like to hear from you.</p>
