We are seeking a strategic and inspiring Vice President, Therapeutic Strategy Leader (Oncology/Hematology) to drive global medical and scientific leadership within one of our most critical therapeutic areas.<div></div>What You’ll DoAs a member of the leadership team, you will shape and execute global oncology/hematology strategy, influencing both scientific direction and business growth. You will partner across functions and with clients to deliver high-impact solutions and advance complex drug development programs.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead global therapeutic strategy for Oncology/Hematology aligned with Fortrea’s vision and commercial objectives</li><li>Contribute to enterprise-wide strategy, business planning, and development of medical, safety, and therapeutic policies</li><li>Serve as Executive Sponsor for process excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across Medical & Scientific functions</li><li>Oversee MedSci project portfolio delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and governance standards</li><li>Drive business development to support growth across therapeutic areas and services</li><li>Build and maintain senior-level relationships with clients, investigators, key opinion leaders, and strategic partners</li><li>Identify and execute opportunities for integrated development across business units (e.g., biomarkers, biosimilars, advanced therapies, health economics)</li><li>Represent Fortrea externally through publications, industry presentations, and participation in scientific forums</li><li>Partner with Business Development and Marketing to shape technical strategy, differentiate capabilities, and identify new opportunities</li><li>Lead development and expansion of KOL, investigator, and consultant networks</li><li>Contribute to proposals, bid defenses, and client strategy; ensure high-quality medical/scientific input across opportunities</li><li>Provide clinical and scientific leadership in due diligence and in-licensing/acquisition activities</li><li>Translate enterprise strategy into clear vision and direction for therapeutic area teams</li><li>All other duties as needed or assigned</li></ul><div></div>Leadership & Team Development<ul><li>Build, lead, and mentor high-performing global medical teams</li><li>Drive talent strategy, including hiring, development, and succession planning</li><li>Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and scientific excellence</li><li>Oversee performance management, resource allocation, and team effectiveness</li></ul><div></div>Clinical & Scientific Leadership<ul><li>Provide medical and scientific expertise across clinical development programs</li><li>Support protocol design, safety monitoring, and study execution as needed (up to ~20% project involvement)</li><li>Ensure robust delivery of medical/scientific contributions across projects</li><li>Guide training initiatives and knowledge development within Oncology/Hematology</li></ul><div></div>What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications:<ul><li>MD (or equivalent) with residency training and clinical specialization in Oncology/Hematology</li><li>Extensive experience in global drug development (typically 15+ years across pharma, biotech, or CRO)</li><li>Deep expertise in Oncology/Hematology clinical research</li><li>Proven leadership at a strategic and organizational level</li><li>Strong track record in client engagement, business growth, and cross-functional leadership</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Specialty fellowship and/or clinical practice experience</li><li>Experience leading at a portfolio level across multiple therapeutic areas</li><li>Recognized industry thought leader with strong external presence</li></ul><div></div>Why Fortrea?<ul><li>Lead strategy within a high-impact, rapidly evolving therapeutic area</li><li>Influence global drug development and bring innovative therapies to patients</li><li>Collaborate with world-class scientific and operational leaders</li><li>Shape the future of clinical research in a dynamic, growth-focused organization</li></ul><div></div>Additional Information<ul><li>Flexible remote work environment within the US</li><li>Collaboration across global teams and time zones</li><li>Travel required based on business and client needs (~30%)</li></ul>Pay Range: USD $375,000-$440,000Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), Company bonus where applicable.Application Deadline: June 1, 2026#LI-SE1Learn more about our <a href="https://careers.fortrea.com/us/en/eeo-and-accommodations" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">EEO & Accommodations request here</a>.
