Senior Data Analyst- Remote (Healthcare exp Req)
Job Purpose
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. This role combines advanced SQL expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and business acumen to partner with stakeholders and technical teams to solve complex problems, improve performance, and enable data-driven strategies. The Senior Data Analyst will bridge the gap between data, technology, and business outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources
- Perform advanced analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business performance
- Automate recurring reports and enhance scalable, efficient reporting processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate requirements into analytical solutions
- Conduct deep-dive and root cause analyses to inform recommendations and decision-making
- Present findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership
- Serve as a subject matter expert on metrics, KPIs, and performance measurement
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and reporting tools
- Partner with data engineering teams to enhance data models, pipelines, and ETL processes
- Define and document business rules, data definitions, and quality standards
- Validate and reconcile data to ensure reliable analytics and reporting
- Lead analytical workstreams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Support cross-functional initiatives with analytical guidance
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in SQL development and analytics
- Other duties as assigned
- Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
- Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field required
- 4–5+ years of experience in business or data analysis with strong SQL focus required
- 4–5+ years of experience in healthcare required
- Advanced SQL proficiency required (e.g., complex joins, CTEs, window functions, indexing, optimization)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, relational databases, and ETL concepts
- Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R preferred
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) preferred
- Experience in healthcare or other data-intensive industries preferred
- Experience working in fast-paced or agile environments preferred
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
