Sales Representative - Industrial Minerals
About the position
The Sales Representative supports commercial activities within a defined territory, working directly with customers across industrial markets including foundry, pet care, iron ore pelletizing, and environmental applications. This role combines customer engagement, technical understanding of bentonite-based products, and commercial execution to deliver value-driven solutions. The position focuses on building relationships with customer offices and production facilities, supporting sales growth, and developing market insights.
Responsibilities
- Execute sales activities within assigned territory, engaging customers across office and production environments.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support long-term business growth.
- Identify customer needs and recommend bentonite-based solutions aligned with operational requirements.
- Provide technical support and product guidance, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Prepare for and lead customer meetings, documenting outcomes and follow-up actions.
- Capture customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights in CRM systems.
- Support territory planning, sales forecasting, and pipeline development.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and technical teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Travel to customer locations, including offices and industrial production sites (e.g., foundries, manufacturing plants).
- Visit company plants (Wyoming and South Dakota) to build product and operational knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in sales, technical sales, or customer-facing roles.
- Ability to travel up to 50% across the U.S.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic analytical capabilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
