Remote Reconciliations Accountant

Role: Staff Accountant, Inventory Team: Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain Scope: Individual Contributor, P2 Years of Experience: 3+ years Location: Ventura, CA or Reno, NV / Hybrid General Summary As the Staff Accountant, Inventory, you support the execution of inventory accounting processes through accurate transaction processing, reconciliations, and documentation. This role is critical to ensuring reliable month‑end close and maintaining clean, well‑supported inventory balances. You will work closely with senior team members to learn inventory and cost accounting fundamentals while developing an understanding of how inventory flows through systems and financial statements.

What You’ll Do: Prepare inventory movement journals, adjustments, and routine reclassifications Support month‑end close activities across multiple entities Prepare and maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations for inventory‑related accounts Assist with reserve schedules and supporting documentation Support physical inventory counts and follow‑up investigations Monitor exceptions and discrepancies and escalate appropriately Maintain organized, audit‑ready support for assigned accounts Identify opportunities to improve documentation, processes, and efficiency Who You Are: Detail‑attentive: You take pride in accurate, well‑supported work Curious: You want to understand how inventory moves and why it matters Reliable: You follow through and meet deadlines consistently Collaborative: You work well with others and ask questions early Adaptable: You adjust as priorities and business processes shift Values‑driven: You align your work with Patagonia’s mission and values Experience You Bring: BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent additional experience) 3-5 years of work experience in accounting, finance, or a related field. Direct inventory exposure is preferred but not required.

Excel proficiency and comfort working with data Experience with ERP systems preferred Foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP Desire to grow technical accounting knowledge over time Experience and exposure working with Microsoft D365 a plus Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines Clear, concise communicator with strong attention to detail and accuracy Hiring Range: $77,000-$83,500 USD Annual At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.

Note the full pay range for this role ranges from: $65,200-$102,700 USD Annual.

Workplace Location Overview
