Public Works Maintenance Worker
The City of Oak Grove is accepting applications for a full-time position of Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department. The ideal candidate shall have good public relations, be organized, and able to work well with others.
General Job Responsibilities
- Service and maintenance of the city’s water, sewer, and storm system.
- Performs various street maintenance functions including repairing potholes and crack sealing.
- Operates various types of heavy equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Performs routine maintenance to vehicles and equipment.
- Performs after-hours emergency work and assigned on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications
No experience required; willing to train the right candidate. High school diploma or GED required. The ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, to work in confined spaces and around machines, to climb and descend ladders, to operate various hand and power tools and other construction equipment, and to operate a motor vehicle. This job involves frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform assigned tasks. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Miscellaneous Information
Oak Grove has an excellent benefits package that includes 120 hours of personal leave time, 14 paid holidays, and employer paid retirement. Hours for this position are typically M-F, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
