Property Damage Adjuster (Remote)

<p><strong>Summary</strong></p><p>Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and disposal of all assigned, insured and claimant, auto property damage claims, including suits, pursuant to Regulation 64.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p><p>• Initiate the relevant investigation required upon receipt of new losses</p><p>• Obtain statements from all parties involved, either written or verbal</p><p>• Make coverage and liability determinations based on appropriate investigation</p><p>• Ensure proper evaluation, valuation of damages, and reserving of assigned claims</p><p>• Review estimates, complete total loss valuations</p><p>• Handle property damage related subrogation matters</p><p>• Negotiate with insureds and claimants, or their legal representatives</p><p>• Communicate with all clients to achieve optimal customer satisfaction while in compliance with Regulation 64</p><p>• Document all activities on the claims notepad</p><p>• Maintain a diary on all files</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Other Duties</strong></p><p>• Adhere to HIC policy and procedures</p><p>• Follow supervisory instruction</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>• Proficient in Regulation 64 and the Vehicle and Traffic Laws (VTL).</p><p>• Understand liability, comparative negligence and how to apply it.</p><p>• Strong negotiation skills.</p><p>• Proficient in handling auto property damage claims.</p><p>• One-year experience investigating and negotiating comparative negligence auto property damage claims.</p><p>• Computer literacy.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements: </strong></p><p>• Must be a New York State resident.</p>
