You will be a Production Underwriter that is part of our Community Associations program which specializes and serves a variety of associations such as condominiums, homeowners, and cooperatives for new business and renewals. The primary responsibilities include account pipeline management, risk selection, qualification, and pricing within the program guidelines and objectives, and selling the proposal to insurance brokers. This involves communicating, working, and negotiating directly with brokers and includes duties such as ensuring the accuracy of underwriting information, determining eligibility, ensuring insurance files are well documented, responding to questions and addressing issues, and servicing change requests. RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Solicit and shepherd new submissions based on program appetite.</li><li>Build and manage a new business pipeline through outbound interaction with brokers including outbound phone calls and in-person broker visits.</li><li>Gather competitor information and market intelligence and understand trends to identify opportunities for improvements to products and pricing.</li><li>Manage new submissions to ensure proper risk selection, premium and coverage.</li><li>Underwrite community association risks by identifying and analyzing risk exposures, loss frequency and severity against desired coverage.</li><li>Provide and create solutions for a broad range of inquiries from brokers and team members.</li><li>Seek out cross marketing opportunities.</li><li>Manage renewals to maximize policy retention including midterm servicing with various carriers and brokers, within your authority in an assigned territory.</li><li>Develop relationships with brokers, with the "customer experience" in mind, and deliver exceptional experiences with every interaction, in all modes of communication.</li><li>Work independently within deadlines while understanding the necessity for appropriate prioritization, communicating and coordinating work efforts with stakeholders.</li><li>Maintain quality control, compliance and proper documentation.</li><li>Promote teamwork and organizational success, while accepting accountability and ownership, celebrating successes and learning from past mistakes.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process, procedure, and system improvements.</li><li>Participate in other company projects and new initiatives.</li></ul> SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.</li><li>Minimum 8 years of in-depth commercial package policy underwriting experience.</li><li>Community Associations with high CAT exposure experience preferred.</li><li>Having a professional designation(s) is a plus.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade.</li><li>Analytical and quantitative skills.</li><li>Must be self-driven, detail-oriented, flexible/adaptable, comfortable in a growing ever-changing organization, and have strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization.</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lines products. </li><li>Must possess strong and effective negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to effectively and independently manage complex workload while exhibiting very sound judgment.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain broker relationships.</li><li>Exemplify superior teamwork </li><li>Must possess the ability to effectively penetrate and increase our new business writings.</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, influencing, presentation, negotiation, planning and team effectiveness skills.</li><li>Some limited travel may be required.</li></ul> LOCATION This is a remote position. COMPENSATION & PERKS<ul><li>$100,000 - $120,000 base salary plus bonus.
