Pay and Perks

  • Commission Only - this role pays commissions based on the sales you generate.
  • Mileage and Cell Phone reimbursement - this role is eligible for mileage and cell phone reimbursement for business use administrated through a third-party service. You are required to have an electronic device capable of GPS tracking for mileage for this role.


Role overview

As an On-Premise Sales Representative at Tryon, you’re not just selling our portfolio, you’re building meaningful partnerships and bringing our products to life where people gather to enjoy it. Representing our brands in bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues, you’ll use your sales expertise and high caliber customer service to increase sales volume, expand distribution, and promote our expertly curated portfolio. With a passion for craftmanship, you’ll play a key role in how our beverages are experienced on tap, by the glass, on a list, across the bar, and on the shelves of a specialty retailer.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Run route as written, daily
  • Focus sales efforts on new and existing restaurants, bars, venues, and specialty retailers in the area of your route
  • Initiate, negotiate, and close sales
  • Organize and plan events to increase sales in accounts on your route
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and provide prompt resolution
  • Communicate with customers regarding pricing, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays
  • Follow up with customers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders
  • Enter customer orders for upcoming deliveries within required timeframes
  • Educate customers on our portfolio, focusing on product knowledge and brand stories
  • Work evenings and nights as needed within the assigned territory
  • Attend all sales meetings and training sessions


Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Must be 21 or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal errors
  • Must be a team player and work well under minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of safe work practices
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Word


PREFERRED

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous sales, merchandising, or pull-up experience
  • Previous food service or distribution experience
  • Intimate knowledge of wine, beer, or the Tryon portfolio
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience using ERP systems (Encompass preferred)


Working conditions

  • This position requires one’s use of personal vehicle to call on customers. This position will primarily work in the assigned territory in the designated market.
  • Significant daily travel within territory


Physical requirements

  • Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally (1-10 loads per hour).
  • Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, climb, squat, reach, stretch, lift, and perform fine and gross motor skills occasionally (1-4 hours per day).
  • Must be able to safely operate a vehicle occasionally (1-4 hours per day).
