Experience is important to us: You have a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience Experienced Software Developer: <ul> <li>At least 3 years in Java or similar object-oriented programming language</li> <li>Experience working with Spring Boot REST APIs and SOAP web services</li> <li>Experience with HTML front-end development and building dynamic web applications using JSP and Servlets</li> <li>Experience with Elasticsearch or Opensearch</li> <li>Experience with Oracle SQL</li> <li>Experience with Maven for managing code libraries</li> <li>Familiarity with GIT, Bitbucket, or a similar version control system</li> </ul> Bonus points if you have: <ul> <li>Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud services</li> <li>Familiarity with Jenkins and writing Jenkins pipelines</li> <li>Familiarity with Jira and working in Agile</li> <li>Familiarity with containers (Docker/Kubernetes)</li> <li>Familiarity with NIEM XML</li> </ul> What you'll do: The software developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Jaa Spring Boot REST services, SOAP services, web applications, as well as custom libraries. These applications are deployed in AWS and used for systems integration as well as simulations/testing system functionality. The developer will use VS Code or a similar IDE to push code to a Bitbucket repository, where it gets deployed via Jenkins. This role also works with the database and maintains SQL data. This is a full-stack role that will require experience working seamlessly with the front-end, back-end, and databases, with a strong object-oriented programming background needed. Responsibilities for the software developer includes: <ul> <li>Being responsible for maintaining existing systems built in Java.</li> <li>Working with REST and SOAP services to seamlessly integrate web applications with external services.</li> <li>Utilizing Oracle SQL and writing PL/SQL procedures to update tables and add new data.</li> <li>Working with Elasticsearch to search and score data and maintain/enhance indexes.</li> <li>Providing guidance and overall technical direction for project development</li> <li>Understanding the DevOps process and using tools like Bitbucket and Maven to push and write code and building Jenkins pipelines.</li> <li>Participates or leads the technical design and documentation for a solution.</li> </ul> What matters to you matters to us.
