Medical Records – Privacy Analyst
Job Description:
- Initiate, control and appropriately manage in-bound and outbound patient medical record requests.
- Ensure all patient medical records received are accurately logged within 48 business hours of receipt and requestors are invoiced in a timely manner if appropriate.
- Obtain patient medical record requestor’s right to receive the patient’s records.
- Responsible for logging, invoicing, tracking, and responding to patient medical record related requests.
- Responds to requests for information from files according to established policies and procedures.
- Frequently assists with special assignments /projects.
- Meets or Exceeds Standards for Quality.
- Assists with information gathering and analysis related to patient medical record requests.
- Researches regulatory, compliance and privacy related information to develop updates to practice, as directed.
- Design, implement and audit Compliance and Privacy program solutions, as needed.
- Address problems as they occur.
- Keep manager advised of problems or concerns.
- Performs other tasks as assigned to support the goals of the organization.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required, college degree preferred
- 3+ years in relevant work experience is required
- Experience in medical records, quality assurance, auditing, program evaluation and HIPAA privacy requirements is preferred
