The ideal Development Manager is a self-starter who can quickly establish relationships with existing supporters, stay focused and grounded under pressure, is flexible, adaptable, and excited to grow support for the ALS community. </span><br><br><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></span></span></span><ul><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">Implement a comprehensive plan to meet an income portfolio goal of at least $400,000 that includes 2-3 events throughout the year.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">In collaboration with the Director and Development support the recruitment, stewardship, and retention of honorary chairs, event committee chairs and committee members and build strong relationships with community partners.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">In partnership with embedded corporate staff, execute face to face meetings, phone and email contact with event sponsors and donors.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">Ensure sponsorship benefits are executed according to a detailed sponsorship plan.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">Coordinate with an event production company and golf course to plan and execute sound event logistics.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">Work with embedded MarCom territory staff to development event communication plans, ensuring adequate time for publicity and guest participation.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">Coordinate printing and distribution of event promotional materials.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">Ensure smooth integration of Association standards and guidelines.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">Analyze event performance on a weekly basis in collaboration with Development Director ensuring growth of future monetary totals and attendance.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height:107%;">Adhere to event budgets; equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in fundraising, event management, volunteer development and management, project management, sales, donor cultivation and relations, and corporate sponsor cultivation.</span></span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;">Experience in fundraising, event management, volunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and relations, and corporate sponsor cultivation are strongly preferred.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;">Skilled at managing participants in an online fundraising platform; ability to run reports and analyze data to build strategic outreach plans.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;">Strong organizational skills.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;">Must exercise good judgment in prioritizing the scheduling of events; must know when to seek input from supervisor.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;">Able to communicate both orally and in writing in a timely and effective manner to multiple constituencies. Strong follow-up and follow-through required.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;">Able to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in working with sensitive, confidential records and information.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;">Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of computer programs in a Windows environment, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to quickly train and use a donor database (such as Donor Pro and Convio). Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. </strong>Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis.
