We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as a Long Term Substitute for our JROTC program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment while the regular instructor is absent. This role requires a passion for leadership, discipline, and the development of students’ character and citizenship skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver JROTC curriculum in accordance with established lesson plans and educational standards.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
- Manage classroom behavior, ensuring adherence to school policies and JROTC protocols.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with school staff and JROTC cadet leaders to plan and execute extracurricular activities, including drills, competitions, and community service projects.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding student needs and progress.
- Uphold the values and principles of the JROTC program, including leadership, discipline, and citizenship.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on JROTC curriculum changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, physical education, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in teaching, coaching, or military training is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of JROTC principles, leadership training, and character development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Must be adaptable, organized, and capable of working independently.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Must pass background checks and adhere to school district policies regarding substitutes.
