About the Role Axcera is seeking a skilled and motivated Internal IT Support & Security to join our growing engineering team. This is a dual-focus role split evenly between hands-on internal IT, security and operations. Making it an ideal fit for someone who thrives in both end-user support environments and technical infrastructure work. You will be part of the core IT & security resource for a ~50-user organization while. Key Responsibilities IT Operations & Support <ul> <li>End-to-End IT Operations: Serve as the primary IT resource for a ~50-user environment, owning day-to-day operations and ensuring a stable, secure, and productive workplace.</li> <li>Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage the full user lifecycle — from provisioning accounts and equipment to secure offboarding, ensuring processes are efficient and compliant.</li> <li>Incident Investigation & Response: Investigate and respond to IT incidents, including analyzing potential security breaches and coordinating resolution across teams.</li> <li>SOC-Like Monitoring: Act in a SOC-like capacity, monitoring security events, triaging alerts, and escalating issues as appropriate.</li> <li>IT Policies & Standards: Develop, maintain, and enforce IT policies that strengthen security posture and operational standards across the organization.</li> <li>Access & Systems Management: Administer internal tools, manage access rights for both internal employees and external users, and maintain the internal technical stack to ensure reliable day-to-day operations, enforcing least-privilege principles throughout.</li> </ul> DevOps & Security <ul> <li>Cloud Security: Monitor and enforce security policies across AWS infrastructure, including IAM governance, encryption at rest and in transit, vulnerability assessments, and compliance audits.</li> <li>CI/CD Security Integration (DevSecOps): Embed security into CI/CD pipelines through automated scanning, SAST/DAST tooling, and secrets management (e.g. HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).</li> <li>Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Security: Review and secure Terraform and CloudFormation templates, integrating policy-as-code tools such as checkov or OPA.</li> <li>Vulnerability Management: Run regular vulnerability scans, prioritize findings, coordinate remediation with development teams, and track progress to closure.</li> <li>Monitoring & Logging: Configure and maintain centralized logging and monitoring using tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog, or the ELK Stack.</li> <li>Containers Security: Secure Docker and Kubernetes environments, including image scanning and runtime protection.</li> <li>Compliance & Auditing: Support compliance with relevant frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, or similar), assist with audits, and maintain security documentation.</li> <li>Scripting & Automation: Develop scripts and automation workflows in Python or Bash to streamline both security and IT operations.</li> </ul> Skills & Qualifications <ul> <li>IT Support Experience: Minimum 3+ years providing internal IT support in a similar environment, including end-user troubleshooting, device management (MDM), and ticketing systems (e.g. Jira Service Management, Freshdesk, or similar).</li> <li>User Lifecycle Management: Hands-on experience with onboarding/offboarding processes and access provisioning.</li> <li>Identity & Access Management: Experience managing IAM policies and access rights across SaaS tools and cloud systems.</li> <li>Incident Response: Ability to investigate and respond to IT and security incidents in a structured and timely manner.</li> <li>Security Monitoring: Experience or strong interest in SOC-like functions — monitoring, triaging, and escalating security events.</li> <li>Cloud Security: Working knowledge of AWS security services including GuardDuty, Security Hub, IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, WAF, and Config.</li> <li>DevSecOps: Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar).</li> <li>Vulnerability & Threat Management: Familiarity with tools such as Qualys, Nessus, Snyk, Trivy, or equivalent.</li> <li>Networking & Firewalls: Solid understanding of network security concepts including firewalls, VPNs, TLS/SSL, and DNS.</li> <li>Scripting: Proficiency in Python and/or Bash for automation and tooling.</li> <li>Compliance Frameworks: Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, or GDPR requirements.</li> <li>Version Control: Proficient with Git and Git-based workflows.</li> </ul> Soft Skills <ul> <li>Sharp analytical thinking with a proactive security mindset.</li> <li>Clear and structured communication, able to engage both technical and non-technical colleagues with ease.</li> <li>Service-oriented attitude with a genuine interest in helping people.</li> <li>Self-driven and comfortable owning responsibilities independently in a remote setting.</li> <li>High attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.</li> </ul> Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
