HR Assistant (part time)

  • PRN schedule - hours vary/are flexible ; open to students pursing a degree in HR or related field

POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Assistant will provide support with day-to-day administrative tasks, help maintain employee records, assist with recruitment processes, and ensure the smooth operation of HR functions.

HR Assistant will be the first contact for applicants, and departmental personnel, both in person and on the phone. Effective communication skills are required due to level of contact with all levels of the organization. Assistant accepts direction from the Executive Director, Director of Human Resources, Director of Finance, and Billing Manager in the daily operation of the administrative office. Must have the ability to prioritize projects and tasks daily and demonstrate customer service focused behaviors.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Assist in maintaining and updating employee records in HR systems and personnel files
  • Support the recruitment process by scheduling interviews, posting job openings, and coordinating candidate communications
  • Prepare onboarding materials and assist in new hire orientation
  • Assist in organizing employee events, training sessions, and company communications
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive HR information
  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, data entry, and document preparation
  • Run and send out monthly reports (birthday, anniversary, and employee roster).
  • Prepare reimbursement check requests for MPA employee benefit expenses and other miscellaneous employee related purchases, submits for appropriate signature approval.
  • Back up the Administrative Coordinator and Office Coordinator when he/she is out of the office for: scheduling, phones, generating outgoing mail, FedEx/UPS and greeting, announcing arrivals and directing people where to go in the office
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

Experience: 0–1 years of administrative or HR-related experience preferred
