Head of Finance / CFO
About the Role
A fast-growing, AI-powered middle-mile logistics company is looking for a Head of Finance / CFO to own the entire finance function. With 50+ cross-dock facilities, 20,000+ vetted carriers, and strong projected revenue growth, the business is scaling rapidly toward $200M+ in revenue — and doing it with a lean, high-automation team. This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of strategic finance, fundraising, and operational excellence.
What You'll Do
- Own and build out the full finance function, including FP&A, treasury, and financial operations
- Design and implement budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support scaling revenue to $200M+
- Lead or co-lead equity and debt fundraising rounds and manage ongoing investor relations
- Oversee treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning
- Develop and optimize capital strategy — balancing debt/equity mix and financing options to extend runway
- Build and manage a finance team while partnering closely with the executive leadership team
- Champion an AI-first, high-automation approach to finance processes
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 10+ years of finance experience with senior leadership in a high-growth, scalable business (logistics or technology preferred)
- Proven FP&A track record: building budgets, forecasts, dashboards, and financial planning infrastructure
- Direct experience leading or participating in equity/debt fundraising and investor relations
- Treasury and cash flow management expertise, including liquidity oversight
- Strong capital strategy skills — understanding of debt/equity tradeoffs and financing structures
- Ability to recruit, build, and lead a finance team and collaborate effectively with executives
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to one of the following cities: Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, or Chicago
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AI-driven or data-first finance processes
- Background in lean, high-automation finance environments
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $200,000 – $350,000 USD annually
- Equity participation in a Series A-stage, high-growth company
