Laurel Springs provides flexible and personalized learning experiences online for students in kindergarten through 12th grade and beyond.</div> </div>  The Elementary School (K–5th Grade) Counselor plays a key role in fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of students in grades K–5. This position requires broad experience, cultural competency, and the ability to address both school-wide priorities and individual student needs through a comprehensive and responsive counseling program. Key Responsibilities Student Support and Development <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="920" data-start="816">Respond to students’ academic and social-emotional needs with developmentally appropriate interventions.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="1040" data-start="923">Assess student abilities, interests, and achievements to support self-understanding and guide middle school planning.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="1140" data-start="1043">Plan and implement group counseling programs informed by student needs and measurable objectives.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="1239" data-start="1143">Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to support academic, emotional, and developmental growth.</li> </ul> Collaboration and Communication <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="1452" data-start="1279">Build strong, proactive relationships with students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators through various communication platforms (email, phone, video conferencing).</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="1567" data-start="1455">Collaborate with the Lower School Dean, K–5 faculty, and advisors to establish holistic student support systems.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="1745" data-start="1570">Work closely with 6–8 and college counselors to ensure vertical alignment of the school counseling program, with a focus on transitions into online learning and middle school.</li> </ul> Program Delivery and Engagement <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="1910" data-start="1785">Lead live, monthly webinar sessions for students and families, addressing academic, career, and social-emotional development.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="2030" data-start="1913">Contribute to enrollment and retention efforts by participating in virtual open houses and re-enrollment discussions.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="2130" data-start="2033">Create and distribute communications (such as newsletters) that address student and family needs.</li> </ul> Professional Responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="2247" data-start="2168">Use student data to identify programming priorities and evaluate effectiveness.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="2381" data-start="2250">Participate actively and professionally in school-wide meetings, events, and communications, including some evening virtual events.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="2482" data-start="2384">Engage in continuous professional development and self-assessment to enhance counseling practices.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="2750" data-start="2695">Master’s degree in school counseling or a related field</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="2901" data-start="2753">Active School Counseling certification, with a commitment to ongoing compliance with state and local credentialing and background check requirements</li> </ul> Experience and Skills <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="3052" data-start="2931">Minimum of 3 years of experience working with elementary-aged students in a school counseling or educational support role</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;" data-end="3332" data-start="3190">Proficient with educational technology tools, including word processing, G Suite, Learning Management Systems, and Student Information Systems</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
