Dance Faculty/Instructor

Position Overview

Ballet Wichita seeks dynamic and dedicated Dance Faculty members to support its Academy and community engagement programs. Faculty play a vital role in guiding students from early childhood through pre-professional levels.

This position includes teaching in one or more of the following disciplines:

  • Ballet
  • Pointe
  • Jazz
  • Modern / Contemporary
  • Conditioning (Progressing Ballet Technique, Pilates, and more)

Faculty are not expected to teach all styles but should demonstrate strength in at least one area.

Faculty may contribute in one or more of the following settings:

  • Academy studio classes
  • Outreach and community programs
  • Summer intensives and workshops

Faculty are not expected to teach in all settings.

Faculty work under the guidance of the Academy Director and must follow Ballet Wichita’s established curriculum. Professional development is provided.

Key Responsibilities

● Deliver high-quality instruction across a range of levels, from young children through advanced/pre-professional, based on faculty experience and strengths

● Follow Ballet Wichita curriculum consistently

● Participate in professional development

● Foster inclusive, structured classroom environments

● Support safe, anatomically sound training

● Collaborate with Academy Director and faculty

● Participate in rehearsals and performances as assigned

● Maintain professional communication

● Attend faculty meetings

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, Dance Education or equivalent professional experience

● 3–5 years teaching experience

● Expertise in ballet, jazz, or modern/contemporary

● Experience teaching multiple age groups

● Strong communication and organizational skills

● Ability to follow structured curriculum

● Flexible schedule (evenings/weekends)

● Reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

● Studio and/or community teaching experience

● Choreography experience

● Experience with diverse populations

● Interest in community engagement

Physical Requirements

Ability to demonstrate movement and remain active for extended periods.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
