Job Summary Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. All Faculty are expected to be excellent teachers, responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning; committed to effective use of technology including distance learning; and provide service to the College, University and Community. Assignments will include teaching, at both undergraduate and/or graduate levels, as applicable. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region. Adjunct instructors instruct students, participate in appropriate curricular and co-curricular assignments and functions, and perform the necessary administrative obligations. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Plans and teaches in assigned course. Prepares syllabi and instruction materials, coordinates lectures and tests, evaluates and complies with relevant grading standards and policies. Maintains highest possible standards of classroom instruction. Keeps abreast of new information and developments in the field of instruction. Knows how to use Canvas and other university technology. Maintains professional skills through regular professional development, and other activities appropriate to higher education faculty. Assists with the development of curriculum as required or necessary. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in related field and eighteen (18+) credit hours from a regionally accredited institution or terminal degree in related field with relevant doctoral-level credit hours from a regionally accredited institution.
