Advanced Practice Nurse

<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>Client is seeking an experienced <strong>Nurse Practitioner (NP)</strong> or <strong>Physician Assistant (PA)</strong> to join our Emergency Medicine team. This role requires <strong>dual-site credentialing</strong> at a full-service hospital and a community emergency facility. The ideal candidate is a seasoned emergency medicine provider comfortable with moderate volume, high-acuity patients and trauma stabilization.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Practice Details:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Annual ER Volume:</strong> 32,000 visits</li><li><strong>Coverage Model:</strong> 24 hours of physician coverage + 36 hours of APP coverage daily</li><li><strong>Emergency Department Beds:</strong> 19</li><li><strong>Admission Rate:</strong> 6%</li><li><strong>Transfer Rate:</strong> 3% </li><li><strong>EMR:</strong> Meditech</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Provide emergency medical care across two ER locations.</li><li>Stabilize and manage patients of all ages, including minor trauma, medical emergencies, and pediatric cases</li><li>Arrange transfers for major trauma, burns, and complex pediatric patients per protocol</li><li>Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, and specialty services including:</li><li>OB/GYN, Hospitalist, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Podiatry</li><li>Anesthesia, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Radiology, General Surgery</li><li>Telepsychiatry, Teleneurology, Trauma</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications (Must have <em>in hand</em> at time of presentation)</strong></p><p><strong>For Nurse Practitioners (NP):</strong></p><ul><li>Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program</li><li><strong>Active, unrestricted VA NP license</strong></li><li><strong>Active DEA license with Virginia address</strong></li><li><strong>Active CSR (if required by Virginia state law)</strong></li><li>National certification: <strong>AANP or ANCC</strong> (FNP, AG-ACNP, or ENP preferred)</li><li><strong>Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS</strong> (ATLS is mandatory for Montgomery facility)</li><li>Documentation of <strong>case logs for the past 2 years</strong></li><li>Proof of <strong>completed CMEs for the last 2 years</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>For Physician Assistants (PA):</strong></p><ul><li>Graduate of an accredited PA program</li><li><strong>Active NCCPA certification</strong></li><li><strong>Active, unrestricted VA PA license</strong></li><li><strong>Active DEA license with Virginia address</strong></li><li><strong>Active CSR (if required by Virginia state law)</strong></li><li><strong>Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS</strong> (ATLS is mandatory for Montgomery facility)</li><li>Documentation of <strong>case logs for the past 2 years</strong></li><li>Proof of <strong>completed CMEs for the last 2 years</strong></li></ul>
