Job Description:

The Miccosukee Indian School is looking for an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher who will teach each student in our program to reach their academic and social potential. Instruction will be delivered using highly engaging research-based strategies that will motivate and inspire students, while providing them with consistent and equitable access to technology usage so that they continue to develop appropriate 21st-century skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of teaching experience
  • Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Grades K-12 Educator Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly Qualified- Dually certified in ESE and a core subject area.

Classroom Responsibilities:

  • Keep SPED service logs current for each student that they service.
  • Adhere to evaluation/re-evaluation and annual Individualized Education Program (IEP) timelines/dates.
  • Meet with IEP Team to review and create annual IEPs.
  • Complete IEP Progress Reports at the end of each nine weeks for each student and corresponding subject area.
  • Adhere to IDEA requirements for each student who has an IEP.
  • Attend all meetings and required Professional Development trainings/webinars.
  • Maintain SPED files with current/proper documentation.
  • Maintain open communication/collaboration with each student’s general education teacher/teachers/service providers/counselors.
  • Physical Requirements - Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift, move, and support up to 50 pounds.

Pay: From $53,000.00 per year
